Uprising was founded to provide additional playing opportunities to talented kids from great families looking for a little more that the traditional township / SEPYLA clubs couldn't provide. The original teams were organized to enter 2-3 events in the spring, with the main purpose being a higher level of play where players could develop and compete at a higher level. The original structure and intent was to put the players first so they could get better and outside, or a non-Dad coach was brought in to execute this concept. Over the years, Uprising has grown into much more than that from a lacrosse perspective, while trying very hard to stay true to its roots in family and fun. The changes were necessary for Uprising to stay relevant. The lacrosse world has changed a great deal over the last 6-7 years. With the prevalence of club teams, camps, and team training sessions, Uprising had to offer more. So we did, and today we find ourselves with 5 single grade teams, ranging from 4th - 8th grade, over 120 current players, and over 80 Uprising Alums currently playing HS lacrosse in the area, with many from that first class (2017), currently playing in college as freshman.

At each grade level, there is a volunteer Dad willing to take the lead in organizing the team and in some cases assisting in coaching as well. Wilson Felter, Fran Bogle, Michael Jordan, Brian Harrington, John Michener and Chris Meagher have guided each of the age groups to where we find them today.

Steve Target and Chris Meagher deserve a special mention as co-founders of Uprising Lacrosse and leading and guiding the organization from its inception.
